We All Struggle

We all struggle.

There are none of us that are immune to struggle. As much as we would like to avoid them, difficulties are a part of life. The more that you want from life, the more success you want, and the more you step outside of your comfort zone the more challenges you will face. This quote really sums it up.

“The greatest battle is not physical but psychological. The demons telling us to give up when we push ourselves to the limit can never be silenced for good. They must always be answered by the quiet, the steady dignity that simply refuses to give in. Courage. We all suffer. Keep going”

Graeme Fife

The first time that I read that, it really struck a chord in me because the greatest battle that we face in life is not a physical battle. It’s the battle of our mind. It’s our psychology.  The good side of this is that we can control our thoughts and our psychology. We can take steps to make sure that we’re thinking the right thoughts that are taking us in a positive direction.

This is why I do what I do. It is why I created the Life Triad System, and why I push so hard on the Success Formula. It is not only to help myself to keep following my Life Map and keep my thoughts focused on the Legacy that I want to create.  I want to help other people do that as well.

Don’t Stand Alone

This is also why I am such a huge proponent of coaching, because having that accountability partner, having that person that’s on your side when you do have the difficulties and the challenges that come up is essential. You’ve got someone there that can help you get through the challenges and to help you see that they are just temporary, and not a permanent fixture of your life. That is the true gift that accountability and that a coach can give you. It’s having that person in your corner telling you to keep going, giving you courage, letting you know that we all face challenges but that we can all get through them together.

Together we stand to never give up.

What did you Learn from Yesterday?

What did I learn from Yesterday?Dan Gentry

We had a great Toastmasters meeting today, and in it I was asked to speak for 1-2 minutes on a random subject (known as Table Topics). My speaking subject was:

“What did you learn from yesterday?”

What came from me was completely extemporaneous. And yet, I found it to be profound. I decided to do an audio about this speech, and try to recreate it as accurately as I can remember it. The real message is: Take time to reflect on your past day, and find the lessons and wisdom that are hidden within. Take the time to Journal and capture the things that your days teach you.

Please enjoy the audio.  The transcript follows below.

Transcript of the Audio:

Today at Toastmasters I was given an interesting prompt for our table topics, and I decided that I wanted to share it with you. The prompt was: What did you learn from yesterday?

I thought for a moment. I began, “I learned that exercise makes you feel amazing even if it is really, really tiring. And I also learned that my karate instructors are crazy with what they want me to do. I learned that the 20-minute ride home with my son, with minimal electronics, having that bonding time, really important, really critical, and really special. I learned that the home that I come home to, not just the house, the home, is an amazing gift from God that I am grateful for every day.

“I learned that I can go a day without having lunch, because I didn’t have lunch yesterday. I instead went to go get some great information, take a class that I really wanted to take from Tiffany Kellogg, and I was willing to put aside eating, maybe have a few almonds, to feed my mind. From that I learned that we can put aside those animal, baser instincts of ‘I’m hungry’ to be more, and to be an elevated being.”

I learned all of these things, and I would not have even thought of it had not Ryan come up with this topic for today. And it got me thinking, which is why I’m doing this recording now, how many days go by that we do not reflect on all of the things that we’ve learned from that day or from the previous day? How many wisdoms were right there for the taking that we just bypassed, we ignored, we didn’t see it? It’s like the beautiful sunset or the beautiful rainbow that nobody sees. It doesn’t matter. We’re missing it.

I’m asking you to take time each day and ask that question, “What did I learn yesterday? What did yesterday teach me?” Or if you’re at the end of the day, “What did today teach me?” Take that time for reflection. It’s why, for me, I’m so passionate about meditation and journaling. Take time to record these magic moments. Because that’s what life is truly about. It’s not the grand things that happen to us. It’s these little pieces of life, the magic moments in life that really make a difference. I ask you to take some time, reflect on what has happened to you over the past day, week, hour, and what are the lessons there. What can we learn from it? I hope that you will be as enlightened as I was today.

The Making a Living Formula

Making a Living Formula
Making a Living Formula

For most people, they work to make a living, and there is nothing wrong with that at all. I was there for a good portion of my life. We work, we get paid, and we pay our bills. We have made a living.   I, in no way, mean to demean this level of life. It is what the majority of people have and are content with. And that is perfectly fine if it makes you happy and content.

This post, our core message, heck our whole company is for those few individuals that wish for more than existence. Those that strive for more. People that want their lives to expand and grow. That wish for more opportunities to serve others, and have some of the nicer things that success brings. Individuals that are wanting to progress to LIFE³!

The Progressing Formula

For many years, I wanted more, but didn’t know exactly what I needed to do. So I read books, bought audio programs, and went to many seminars and it helped. I knew how to set goals. Knew the things I should do to get ahead. And I did them. Occasionally… Sporadically… I would read a good book, or listen to an audio and get excited. Deciding that now was finally the time to get my life to the level I had always wanted.

Then the excitement would fade. My grand goals and dreams slowly faded from the forefront of my mind as new distractions and challenges arose. I have heard it called the New Year’s Resolution Syndrome. We plan for a better life, and we have some tools to help guide us, but we still don’t reach the “breakthrough” to success.  My life was better and I had progressed, but I was nowhere near LIFE³.

I know you want your life to be better too! Let’s move on to the secret sauce.

The Success Formula

The Success Formula
The Success Formula

So, what is the secret variable for the Success formula? What takes life to the Power of Three? When you have your System and Work kept focused by Accountability! Accountability takes all your hard work and the systems you have built and multiplies them! It keeps your efforts laser focused. So how do you implement Accountability in your life?

You need a coach.

When you have someone in your corner, rooting for you to succeed, your chances of success rise exponentially. Having someone there to keep you honest by asking the tough questions that you may be avoiding is invaluable. A neutral sounding board for ideas and insights gives you freedom to explore previously unexplored possibilities. You need to have someone that knows your goals, that has seen your Life Map. and will know when you are getting off track.

My life took a major turn in the right direction when I finally found a coach and mentor plus a peer group of like minded people that were just as focused on success as I was. Making the decision to get a coach altered my outlook, and serendipitous events started happening. Life has never been the same, and I am never going back!

Third Power Performance offers coaching opportunities for you, and a community of like-minded people all headed for greater success. But please, if you don’t work with us, find someone to work with that will be diligent, and keep you following your Life Map.

The Atomic Triad

Tesla QuoteI love patterns.  They fascinate me. During my quest for self-improvement and for creating a system to help myself (and others) to actually make real change, I found a pattern that kept cropping up.  Then one day when I was meditating, it came to me. Things come in threes. The Atomic Triad was born!

Over the last 30 years of studying self-improvement material I came across the concept of be,  do and have.  If you’ve spent any time looking at self-improvement material I’m sure that you’ll probably come across it before as well.  You must first be before you can do and you must do before you can have.  In other words, to Have the things you want, you must Do certain things, and in order to Do those things you must first Be the kind of person that can do it.  The real essence, the foundation of who you are will determine what you can do. Only when that foundation is strong, can you build the framework (the Doing) that will manifest your desires. Foundation, Framework, Manifestation.

Next, when I was working on creating life balance I asked the question what does it mean to have life balance? Well, you have to start by working on yourself, then your family & friends, and lastly on your material possessions.  In other words, you really have to have a strong foundation of self-mastery. With that in place, you can really have great relationships, the true blessings in life, with which to share the bounty of your material possessions. Foundation, Framework, Manifestation.

Hmm.. Well, let’s break down what it takes to have true self-mastery, I thought.  Well, we need to work on our Spiritual life, feed our mind, and have a healthy body.  So a solid foundation of spirit. A strong framework of ideas and intellect. And the manifestation of a strong physical nature…  Foundation, Framework, Manifestation.

The real epiphany came while sitting in church. And I’ll admit.. I was bored, and not really listening to the sermon.  This Life Triad which I now called it was filling my thoughts. Suddenly I had the thought of the three words I use here. Foundation, Framework, and Manifestation.  I realized the in Christianity you have the Holy Trinity.  God, as the Foundation, the Holy Spirit as the Framework, and the Son as the Manifestation.  God is the foundation of all faith and the basis of everything.  The Holy Spirit was the framework for bringing that foundation to us. And the Son was the literal manifestation of God in the physical world.  It all made sense.

Atomic Triad
The Atomic Triad

For everything there is a foundational piece, there is a way it gets connected together and built, and then there is the manifestation of it in one form or another.  The Atomic Triad: Foundation, Framework, and Manifestation.

The Tesla quote above I didn’t find until all of this had come together, but it ties in exactly with everything else I have seen.  Energy is the foundation of everything, the frequency is the energy moving in a framework, and the vibration is the manifestation of that frequency.  It all fits!

As you will see in our upcoming book, this pattern keeps showing up over and over again.  I am so excited to share this with you!  I hope it helps you as much as it has me.
